The house becomes a home again, gradually...

So it has been 9 months now, "the baby should almost be there". But it has been hard to do the renovations on our apartment. While being at it our ideas for the setup and how we want to use the space we have, have grown, changed, grown some more and changed all over again.

But we are getting there now, our contractor will start in a couple of months and we are finalizing the plans. Picking our bathroom, toilet and furnishing, and on top of it all deciding on the kitchen layout. During the process we don't always agree but we do get to good decisions. Sometimes they are emotional (and a bit expensive) in other cases we just look at the cash.

In the last couple of weeks, from Christmas till now we have tried making our construction site into a home again. So we took out our bookshelves and drove over 600 kilo's of pressed wood to the county dump. We leveled our living room floor and insulated it. And on top of that we rolled out 7 meters of the cheapest carpet available. It is green so we are sure I will take it out again. We have some plants in our windows and now it even looks homelike.

Because we took out the bookshelves it now even looks a bit like it is going to be in a couple of months, so somehow we got in better spirits about the renovation. That's why I am going to post our progress from now on, working all the way to the housewarming. Be sure to check it out!
